Daffodil Delight

This week was my Mum and Dad's 53rd wedding anniversary so a special card for a special couple was in order.

I love how the card folds flat but then pops out when you open it up. They absolutely loved it.

Using the wood crate framelits and the new Daisy Punch we got to work. There were a group of us at a friends and fellow Stampin Up demonstrator's place. She gave us the crates and daisy's and left us too it. The great thing was there was no card to go by it was just all us. There were so many versions and each one so different.

Jar of Love

Hi all

I hope you have had a great week. I managed to do quite a bit of cardmaking this week and my lovely Upline Chloe lent me one of her sets "Jar of love" after making these cards at her class. After attending class I just had to have another play with this great set and it is now definitely on my wish list. It is just so versatile. I love it.

Have a fantastic weekend.

Stamp Out Cancer

Hi all

Well another week and been and gone, hasnt this year just flown.

In May my beautiful friend and Upline Chloe and I held a Australia's biggest morning tea. We got the inspiration at our Onstage Convention in April when I won the awesome Ribbon of Courage stamp set designed by the beautiful Patty Bennett.

The first thing I thought was this would be the perfect set for a cancer fundraiser. So Chloe and I got to planning and hosted this wonderful event and we managed to raise over $700.

Lots of fun and we had a make and take using the stampset, raffles, lucky door prize and of course yummy treats.

Below is the make and take that everyone made. We gave the ladies the option of making the card in either Bermuda Bay (Blue) or Melon Mambo (Pink).

This card below I made for a group swap that we took part in.  Our group of Stampin Up demonstrators each selected a new stamp set to highlight. We then made 6 of them and each of us got one. Its a great way to share ideas and see all the different styles of people. Instead of using the Ribbon I decided to highlight the heart in the set. Using Versamark I stamped the hearts and then heat embossed in white. I then had a spritzer with Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Bermuda Bay and sprayed over the top of the watercolour cardstock. The effect was beautiful. It was then mounted on Melon Mambo and then placed on a Bermuda Bay cardstock.   I got this lovely card idea by the very talented Yvonne Pree.

These were made as part of our raffle.

Below are some pictures from the day. I think everyone had a great time, I know I did!

We had a great time highlighting this stampset and raising money for such a great cause. I will definitely be helping out again next year.

Have a great week everyone and happy crafting.

Cheers
Nic 😊

Sending wishes your way!

After a long absence due to RL getting busy with going back to work and raising a family I am hoping I am now back to regularly craft and sharing my creations.

I have been lucky enough to have a great Stampin Up Upline and group of ladies that I learn from every day. They are a great support not only in the Stampin Up world but in my everyday life as well.

Saying that, I regularly attend classes of both Chloe Evans and Marlene Fuller and learn different techniques in every class.

This weeks card was made using the Shaving Cream technique at Marlene's class. This was so much fun and it was the first time a few of the ladies had tried it (including myself) we poured shaving cream onto a plate and added a few drops of ink (or food colouring works just as well). then we got a stick and swirled it around in the shaving cream to give us a pattern. Then using photographic paper we placed the glossy side down onto the shaving cream. The effect was amazing and every time we did it a different pattern was made.

I decided to use blue ink in my shaving cream and used that as water on my card, then I used a spritzer (in which I also added water and blue ink) and lightly covered the paper which made the sky effect. I stamped the ocean liner on white card stock and using the circle stitched framelits cut out the ocean liner, I was so happy with the end result.

Please dont hesitate to contact me if you would like a copy of the 2017/2018 catalogue or for any Stampin Up products.

Have a great weekend!
Cheers

ESAD 2016 Holiday Catalogue Favourite Products Blog Hop

Welcome to my part of the ESAD 2016 Holiday Catalogue Favourite Products Blog Hop. If you have been following the trail of blogs then I am sure you have come from Renee's page and wasn't it fabulous. If you havent been to Renee's yet make sure you go and take a look, you wont be disappointed.

This is the first time I have participated in a blog hop and to say I am nervous is an understatement. I do hope you enjoy taking a look and that I manage to inspire you at least a little.

There’s nothing that says Christmas more than Santa, his sleigh and Reindeer right! So, with that in mind I set about making one of my all-time favourite cards. I just love the stamps and dies I have used today and love that I have bought two of my favourites from the Holiday Catalogue together to make the one card.

Using Santa’s Sleigh Thinlit Dies I cut out his sleigh using Cherry Cobbler Cardstock. Once that was cut out I stamped my reindeer using Santa’s Sleigh Stamp set with Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake Cardstock. Lets not forget that a Reindeer isn't complete without his bell! These cute mini jingle bells come in red and silver and are a great addition and best of all they even make noise!!! Attach this around Rudolph’s neck by using our linen thread.

Once that was all completed I then started on my background. To create the dark night sky, I sponged Dapper Denim Ink in layers to get the desired darkness. Once I was happy with the look I added a stamped off Whisper White Ink snow effect. I still felt though that it wasn’t quite enough so using one of my favourite sets from the annual catalogue I stamped one of the trees from Lovely as a Tree Stamp set.

For the ground using a combination of heat and stick and dazzling diamonds I managed to create a snow-covered road that Santa’s Sleigh could land on.  I also managed to make the tree glisten with snow.

I then started on my second set Father Christmas. I just love this set. The fine lines on the stamp make it so that you can either stamp the set alone or you can go one step further and colour in (and who doesn’t love a little colouring in). Using Black StazOn I stamped both Santa and his Toy Sack. Once dried I then set about colouring in using a combination of our Markers (Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Strawberry Slush, Crumb Cake and Basic Black) and our Blender Pen with Real Red Inkpad and adding a touch of Wink a Stella Glitter Brush on his beard and white parts of his suit.

Finally, the Sentiment. This is from another of our cute stamp sets called Cookie Cutter Christmas Stampset. I wanted something small and simple and this was perfect.

Then came time to put it all together. Using a combination of Glue dots, Fine Tip Glue Pen, Stampin Dimensional and Tear and Tape I adhered all the different parts together.
I just love how it turned out and I hope that you do too.

So that’s it from me this time round. Thanks for visiting. I hope that you will continue your journey thru the rest of the Blogs. Next up is Amity and I just know you are going to love her creation.
Have a great day and a Very Merry Christmas to you all.
